AFTER CARE INSTRUCTIONS
STRICTLY AVOID FOR 8-10 DAYS (OR UNTIL FLAKY PHASE IS COMPLETE):
- any moisture (water, sweat, steam, etc) on the eyebrows
- any makeup or lotion on the eyebrow
- any UV ray exposure
- working out or sweating
- sleeping on your sides or face (back only!)
- picking, scratching or peeling the pigment or scabs
STEP BY STEP GUIDELINES:
IMMEDIATELY AFTER PROCEDURE
I will send you home with damp cotton rounds.
Wipe your eyebrow in one smooth motion beginning at the center and swiping out towards the tail. Do this every 1-2 minutes for one hour to prevent fluid buildup on the skin. You may see small dots of pigment or blood on the tissue and you may not see anything. Continue regardless. The better you blot, the less likely your flaky phase will be thick, clumpy and itchy!
ONE HOUR AFTER PROCEDURE
Discard the cotton rounds, you'll no longer use them.
Wash your eyebrows gently following these instructions:
1.Stand at the bathroom sink and wet your face with water.
2.Apply a small amount of Dial Gold Antibacterial soap to clean hands.
3.Create a lather in your hands with the soap and bring the bubbles to your eyebrows.
4.Wash eyebrows with light pressure using only your fingers, moving in a circular motion from center outwards. DO NOT SCRUB. DO NOT USE ANYTHING BUT YOUR FINGERS TO WASH.
5.Gently splash the soap away with water and pat dry with a fresh paper towel.
For the rest of the day, pat the eyebrows once every 30 minutes with a new, clean tissue or paper towel.
NIGHT OF PROCEDURE
Wash brows again right before going to bed.
***It's important to remember that your skin is most susceptible to bacterial infection in the first 24 hours because the skin is open. Do not touch your brow area whatsoever except for when you are washing them or patting with a clean tissue/paper towel. ***
DAY 2-14
Wash brows upon waking. Wait 10 minutes for the skin to fully dry. Apply a sheer layer of Aquaphor Healing Ointment. Applying the ointment once a day is sufficient. Do not apply in a thick layer. DO NOT REPEAT AT NIGHT (morning routine only!)
This initial healing phase will take between 8-14 days to complete. During this time, absolutely NO other products are to touch the eyebrows other than Dial soap and Aquaphor. Peeling may begin a few days after receiving your tattoo (however, not all guests notice the peeling). This might give you the impression that there is a healing issue but rest assured, this is to be expected. The brow color you observe peeling away is simply the superficial color combined with dry skin (scabs) coming off as the skin heals itself. Once you reach the 14 day point, all the peeling/flaking should be complete. The color will appear exceptionally light and blurred until it begins darkening throughout the next 4-6 weeks.
PLEASE REMEMBER...
Quality healed results come down to following your pre-care and aftercare, period. Out of the countless services I have completed, the best results always come from those who strictly follow these guidelines. Be mindful when booking both your initial service AND your touchup of conflicting life events that would prevent you from being able to follow these guidelines (beach trips, vacations, workout commitments, sporting events, etc). I say all this because I genuinely care and want the best for you and your pretty face! :)
